Are You Ready To Detox?

It takes 21 days to break a habit and 60 days to change a belief

Download an updated version of the Journal here, which includes a place to compare your symptoms from week 1 to week 5

If you didn’t download & fill in the Health Journal and symptom Diary in week 1 you can access it here. DEFINITELY make sure you do it now, its really important for tracking your success and ensuring your health is moving in the right direction!

Stage 2 Health Evalulation

It’s time to drag out your Health Evaluation Journal and reassess how far you have come over the last 4 weeks

Give all of the symptoms a new score in regards to symptom severity, fingers crossed you are already starting to see some improvement across the board, but don’t fear if you don’t see massive changes just yet, its is still early days and remember it takes at least 12 weeks to significantly renew your cells and make positive life long changes!

If you don’t meet the criteria for Detoxification we DO NOT RECOMMEND YOU undertake the following 4 week Detoxification period of Balance Me, UNLESS you intervene in the following ways.

If you are not moving your bowels daily:

You can safely detox and follow the Balance me Stage 2 protocol if you

  • Implement 1-2 Coffee Enemas per week (revisit week 3 for the down low)
  • Temporarily use some form of natural laxative which ensures you empty your bowels at least once per day minimum

If you are not drinking enough water

You can safely detox and follow the Balance me Stage 2 protocol if you

  • Start drinking more water!

So, what is enough water?

Your daily quantity of good quality filtered water can be calculated by: your current body weight x 0.03

eg.  78kg x 0.03 = 2.34 litres DAILY

If you are pregnant

Unfortunetely It is NOT safe to continue on the Balance Me Stage 2 protocol

If you are Breastfeeding

Please speak to your Balance Me health mentor before continuing, there are some extra precautions that we need to follow to ensure this is the right outcome for you and your child

Lets make your detox fun!

Detox Eating Guidelines

The Good news is, your eating plan guidelines really don’t change too much, we’re still eating clean and focusing on max nutrition, we’re just going to tidy things up a little bit in regards to the lifestyle factors which may be placing burden on your liver and slowing down the detoxification rate and release of toxins.

Consider it a 30 day challenge

How do you eat an elephant – 1 bite at a time! And that’s how it is with Cleansing and detoxing, just take it step by step, day by day! Don’t overwhelm yourself by looking at the whole 30 days at once, you can totally get through

This is what we want you to Cut out while detoxing

  • Savoury snacks made with healthy himalayan salt

Tips to Surviving a Detox

Be Kind to Yourself

Rest, rest, rest, rest and rest some more! The first week of a serious detox can be rough for some people, which means you need to slow down and take care. Don’t try and over do it at the gym, in fact take the week off! You will need to sleep more than normal, so turn the alarm clock off, even take a sickie at work if you can! You need to give your body the best chance to remove as many toxins as possible so that you can balance those hormones quickly and effectively, so be kind to yourself over the next 30 days and especially in the first week, when your body is getting used to the dietary changes and the lack of coffee. sugar or alcohol.

Set Milestones & Reward Yourself

At the end of each week, reward yourself with something awesome! In fact reward yourself after every single day if it helps you get through the early days where you may be struggling to come to terms with your lack of coffee

Here’s a few ideas of what you might like to gift yourself

  • A relaxation massage
  • Buy yourself a new dress
  • Bake/create yourself a raw food detox friendly dessert
  • Go and see a movie
  • Give yourself a facial (organic products)
  • Take a mental health day (sickie) at work and spend the day at the beach
  • Phone someone who makes you laugh
  • Watch a movie that makes you laugh

Have an Intervention Plan up your Sleeve

What is your poison, what are you going to miss the most while on your hormone balancing detox?

If its coffee, experiment with a new hot beverage that you can enjoy and look forward too instead of Coffee.

If its alcohol, play around with a yummy mocktail that you can sip on instead of that glass of wine

If its sugar, get creative with the Healthy Sweet treats pinterest board.

The point is, have a back up plan, have something you can reach for in the times when you may be feeling weak. Don’t set yourself up to fail, empower yourself by having a plan of attack, it doesn’t matter how much will power you have, I guarantee you it will be tested at some point, so make sure you know the traps to avoid, it might mean cancelling your usual social digs temporarily if you know that particular friend will talk you into having a wine at your dinner catch up. It might mean changing your usual cafe so that you can purchase a coffee free alternative, it might even mean stocking the pantry up with organic dairy free chocolate, just so that you have a health option to turn too when you get that chocolate craving.

Be one step ahead and the next 30 days will fly!!!!
