Caring for your Toothy Pegs with a homemade toothpaste recipe!
If you’re anything like me, you probably dread going to the dentist! I mean nothing against them personally, I’m sure they are lovely people but there’s just something eerie about laying with your mouth wide open, sharp needles in your gum, the sound of drilling teeth and the taste of those medical mouthwash treatments, yuck!
So if you want to avoid the dentist, here’s exactly how to do it! Introducing homemade toothpaste recipe that re-mineralizes your teeth, making them stronger and even has the ability to fill cavities without a trip to the dentist!
There’s another great reason why I love this recipe and that’s because it’s free of that horrible stuff fluoride!!! Yes, that’s right, the same stuff they put I our drinking water, because historically it was claimed to strengthen teeth and prevent holes in your teeth, unfortunately this information is extremely out dated and new research suggests that Fluoride reduces the IQ in developing brains, our poor children! Additionally, fluoride binds to a really important nutrient – iodine, which in turn leads to a deficiency resulting in an under active thyroid and other poor health problems.

Anyway back to the toothpaste!
2 tablespoons of Bentonite clay
4 Tablespoons of Filtered water
1.5 Tablespoons of Organic Coconut oil
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder (get an aluminium free one from a health food store)
6 drops of Doterra Onguard Essential oil blend**
Pinch of Sea salt
Mix it all together in a glass bowl. Add extra water to achieve the consistency you desire. Store in a cute mason jar and you’re set!
And there you have it – chemical free, additive free, healthy homemade toothpaste!
I love Doterra because it’s a high quality food grade source, which makes it safe if your children are in the habit of accidently ingesting their toothpaste and this blend tastes pleasant. Onguard is a specific forumla designed to boost immunity including Orange peel, Clove, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus and Rosemary oils. So feel free to use any or all of the above oils in your paste.

FIGHT TOOTH INFECTIONS WITH Neem oil
This is my other most favourite and super valuable tip I’m going to share with you – Neem oil for fighting infections!
If you ever get an abscess or tooth infection apply this super potent oil on the tooth and surround gum area until the pain subsides, and then keep going for a few more days just to be sure! Tooth infections can be dangerous, which is why dentists will ALWAYS prescribe antibiotics, but Neem oil is extremely potent and can take the place of antibiotics and can prevent serious consequences of tooth infection.
Other great uses for neem include: immune boosting, fighting fungal infections, psoriasis, eczema, acne, warts, herpes, head lice, repelling insects and soothing digestive upset.
I love Neeming Australia: Neem Oil, it gets a work out in my house hold!
So there you have the nuts and bolts for the best homemade toothpaste recipe.
